Hola de Mexico!!!!!!!

Hey Everyone,

So this week has been really great, we have been working a lot, tons of lessons and and just finding people to talk to. Well we first started our week off with losing our cellphone! yeah! so we literally had no connection at all with our leaders and it was like if we had an emergency we were to start a fire and do smoke signals, thankfully that did not have to happen. We ended up buying one today for like 30$, super cheap but hey its an amazing color red and we got earphones for free. love it!

We have been teaching this one investigator the lessons and he is about 17 years old and believes in the saint of death, he carries around his neck a medallion of the reaper and prayers to her every night. So out of all of the questions that i have been asked about what we believe, this would have to be one of the top 3, Do you believe in the angel of Death? Definitely has given me a different perspective on how we view death. I am happy to say that we die like any normal person here on earth, and our body is laid to rest in the earth and returns to dust, as so it says in Ecclesiastes, and our spirit goes to God in Heaven, our Heavenly Father. We don't have to wait for anyone to come and take us down to the awful place of fire and brimstone, this is for after the resurrection and judgement with Jesus Christ.

We also have had a great week here, the sun has really come out and we are now carrying our sweat rags! let it begin!!! we still haven't bought umbrellas yet but we shall endure it for another week or two before we buy any. I just love it here in Mexico, it has given me such a wonderful experience, it will be a sad day for when we go home and say goodbye to this lovely place, I am in love.  I know this is where i am suppose to be and sharing the gospel with people, and then see it change their lives, i get so happy! we are just running and hoping that others will come and join the race. I love you all thanks.

Always Happy,
Hermana Newmeyer

Whoo Hooo Missionary Work!

Hey Everybody!

So this week was just jammed packed with lesson after lesson and contact after contact. We were so busy we made a list for the sisters in our ward that could come with us on splits so that we could go visit more families and contact more in the street, we have seen such an amazing progress. We found a family that is so beautiful and willing to receive the gospel its amazing, there kids went to mutual without us even knowing and they loved it! I am so happy to be here in this work and that we could be able to share the gospel with so many!  I am happy and we are just flying. So along with missionary work we also have to take care of somethings like exercise, and phone and calls and the area book, etc. well we decided to do workouts in the morning and we borrowed a workout dvd called ''insanity'' for those who have seen it or even heard of it, it is insane, oh we are sore afterwards and its only week 2! anyway, we are also happy as well, full of energy and just walking everywhere!
We also have the phone, well we did have a phone and lost it today, so we are going to be back tracking a lot just to find it. Hopefully we can. Well i know that blessings come to those who are obedient, hopefully we will get an iphone.....;) naw, keep up the good work and know that Jesus is always there for you. Just pray and he will be there to answer. James 1:5

love you all

Temptations are Real

Hey Everyone,
So this week was fantastic we have done so much and it's amazing! We have been working in our area folder with all the information of our lessons and what we need to do next with our investigators, and we have lists of people who we have taught but are just not interested anymore. So we have been updating a lot and putting stickers down where the people live and that i can remember for once where we are and not be like, "um.... which street is this again?"  super funny, i am so grateful that my companion knows the area like the back of her hand. We are so happy because we had transfers today and we didn't change so we are together again for another 6 weeks so excited. But i did get called to be the Leader Capacitadora over all the sisters in our Zone! so a new responsabilidad and maybe a new time to grow and change. We were talking about leadership responsibilities, me and my companion and we decided that:

"If Heavenly Father calls me to be a leader, its not because that i have the talents, or because that i am perfect and i can change the world, but that He wants me to be perfected"

So its definitely going to be a good transfer. I am so happy and excited to be here and share the gospel. So we are teaching this family and they were so excited to go to church yesterday, we met with them and our president came with us and we taught a really powerful lesson and the spirit testified of the truthfulness of the Sabbath day and he promised that he would go. Well Sunday morning we asked if they needed help going to church and he said that they were out of the city limits and were checking a lot to buy to build their house and they had expressed this interest when we met with them and they said that they were going to go to church instead, but they didn't. Anyway, there car broke down out there and they couldn't make it back to church. It was such a clear example to us that Satan is real and that with just simple interest that he can make us not go to church. I can definitely say that going to church helps us to come closer to Heavenly Father and Satan wants us to forget that.

"we have to live in such a way that we always remember that which Satan so desperately wants us to forget" -hna ogden

I know that this gospel is true and that if we put our priorities in place and focus on Heavenly Father he will bless us and give us strength to do what we need to, also to help us from the temptations that might otherwise make us do something we will regret. I love you all thanks for everything and your letters.

Always Happy,

Pepper Spray, Bowling, Lasagna in a bowl

Hey Everyone,

So this week has been quite eventful and fun. Me and my companion have been working in our Folder of the Area trying to update everything and lessons and just trying to get our map all dotted with stickers as well, oooh super long and just great. Its amazing how much easier it is with everything up to date and in order. Oh so for the past couple of weeks our water in the shower has been nothing but icy cold freezing, and lets just say that in the morning can be really tough to get going, brrr, super cold. Anyway, so we have decided that if we wanted hot water we just heat it up. So for the past couple of weeks we have been taking showers from a 5 gallon bucket with hot water, super great, and at least the water is hot.
So yesterday something funny happened in church, someone had sprayed pepper spray in the hallway, and it was really interesting what happened.  My companion and i were in Relief Society and we received a couple calls from our ward mission leader and so we left and found out he was looking for his wife so we went to find our mission leaders wife and we saw a sister coughing and almost gagging outside the bathrooms and then the sister we were looking for was coughing and gagging as well. My companion handed the phone to the sister and then i started to cough and so did my companion, the spray was so intense that we had to leave the building to breath fresh air, to help us to stop coughing. Then i remembered the primary kids, they were down that exact hallway where the pepper spray was, i looked at my companion and said, "the children!" We ran down the hallway coughing and gagging and you could hear the little children coughing as well, it was intense, we opened the doors and all the children ran out of the building. We evacuated everyone and we tried to evacuate the Relief Society but they would have nothing to do with evacuation and so they continued on with their lesson. Thankfully they didn't have the spray down their hallway. It was awful.

Today we went and played bowling with our district and it was great! we also came home and made lasagna in a bowl and then sat down in our hammocks and ate our lasagna, super good!
So this week was great, we had some ups and downs and we also had some funny moments, the family that we have been teaching didn't come to church this week and we were really sad i just hoped that they would have come but they didn't anyway we just keep going and have faith that all will be well and be grateful for the little things that we have in our life. I love you all thanks for your letters, look forward to hearing from you next week. love you all.

Always Happy,

New investigators, Scorpions! Fried Fish!

Hey Everyone,

So this week has been super super busy and crazy! first off my companion got the cold, and its super funny because you only get it if the temperature changes and you get chilled, ha like that ever happens here, well it did, we went from like 80 to 79, and she got the cold, it was awful she had a roll of tissue paper on the side of her bed and snored in the night for the past three days, i felt sorry for her. We also had the opportunity to go and see ''Meet the Mormons'' oh my, such a beautiful movie, i cried at the last part, and if you go watch it you will see why. It was amazing, we had so much fun watching it, all the elders and sisters brought their food and snacks and for the first 10 minutes of the film all you could hear was wrappers being opened and soda cans fizzing and just people eating their Mexican Cheeto's with chile. Really great!

So this happened Wednesday and then the next day i went to clean out my back pack and lo and behold a scorpion had crawled onto my arm, i secretly was thinking it was waiting in ambush for me because it was black and evil looking. I flung it off and immediately went into shock, my companion was like what happened, i could only point and stutter saying ''scorpion.......over there......on my desk.....'' Least to say we did take an awesome video of how to kill a scorpion, we were dying of laughter at the end just watching the reruns of our little video. Super funny.

We also had a meeting with our zone and it was amazing, we definitely have some things that we can work on and achieve. I am super excited for this next week, we found a really awesome family, we were contacting a reference and ended up contacting the whole family, the parents accepted baptism and the kids want to know more, we are just overjoyed that we could find this family, i really hope that we can continue helping them and they get baptized. We are so happy we definitely can see the work of the lord helping us find the right people to be baptized and they are just wanting to listen.

So today was awesome for lunch we had fried fish and it was definitely cooked the right way because it was so cool looking and just awesome! i could only eat one fish while the elders ate two! super big fish, anyway i am excited for this week and i can't wait to see the people that we find. I love you all, don't forget about the tender mercies of Heavenly Father and he will guide you along the way. I love you.

Always Happy,
